How do i get 1600x900 resolution

Partizan , Nov 25, What is CCC? I looked in all the Vaio and vid settings, and don't see anything with an information center. Catalyst Control Center. I have Nvid m on mine, no ATI. It screwy, there are no 16x9 preset resolutions other than x Mine doesn't have the "manage custom resolutions" choice. I tried monkeying around with the "change flat panel scaling" options with lower non 16x9 res, but nothing looked very good. Not a big deal. Thanks for the effort!

Even though Microsoft would love you to stay on Windows10, they have provided an out just in case you change your mind.

There should be an option that says something like, "Go back to Windows 7" or whatever you had before. Windows will give you a brief questionnaire to fill out, after that, it should be pretty much self explanatory. If your "files have been deleted", I'm presuming that you formatted your disk and started fresh rather than upgrading. I was also one among you guys when i first updated to windows 10 and after trying all mentioned settings and changes , nothing happened.

Now thing that worked for me was that i downloaded nvidia control panel and while installing it showd installing display drivers So the search for the fix begins again.

Not being my own computer makes this that much harder. There was no external back up done unfortunately, other than photos and videos etc apparently. The "Go back to Windows 7" option is what gave me the "files have been deleted" response.

And yes, you were right, with how much extra stuff this computer had before hand a fresh start seemed the right answer. Humph is now the answer! I once heard a saying from an old teacher, "The computer is only as smart as the person running it.

You have to manually download and install your graphic driver from the internet. After upgrading to Windows 10, Windows uses their default basic adapter and didn't install your original graphic driver. After installing your graphic driver, your screen will auto readjust to its optimum resolution. Try rebooting if it doesn't. I know it is a old thread but some people still face this problem. So I am going to clear some misconception. The problem is not the monitor or Windows 10 but it the graphics driver.

Because it is the GPU which is responsible for processing any visual content shown on display. Without it you can't run graphic intensive programs, play videos or run games and your monitor is recognized as "generic" or "other".

Without the graphics driver older Windows show the resolution at x and for newer Windows 8 and later it is x After you install the driver it will support almost any resolution more than x Find out what hardware you have and download drivers for it. If your hardware vendor don't provide Windows 10 drivers then you probably have to stick with older version of Windows or need to buy new graphics hardware.

I confirm KC's contribution. The event still happens to those migrating to Windows On my HP E display I was only getting x resolution offered.
